VAGF partnered the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), The Mumbai Police and NGOs in serving food not only to the daily wagers and underprivileged in Borivali, Charkop, and Colaba, patients at Poddar Hospital, Worli, but also to the tribals at Uttan, in the neighbouring district. To ensure hygiene, the food served was sourced, prepared, and packed at EsselWorld Park by its staff. The food packages were then transported to various locations and distributed. Between March 2020 and July 2021, up to 750,000 packages of ready-to-eat meals have been distributed.
Furthermore, around 200 tonnes grains were distributed to needy households. To prevent the spread of Covid-19 and to protect the underprivileged citizens of Mumbai from the virus, we also designed, developed and distributed face masks among the needy. As many as 1 lakh masks have been distributed since the pandemic began.
